Review by Sherri Allen:
Biscuit, the little yellow puppy, has been delighting children for almost 10 years with his antics. Now, author Alyssa Satin Capucilli has given beginning readers a chance to share another story-time adventure with this sweet puppy in Biscuit and the Baby.
There's a new baby at Biscuit's house and he is ready to meet the tiny creature. But first, Biscuit has to wait for the baby to wake up. Biscuit is really anxious to meet the baby. He finds the baby's toys and the baby's blanket and the baby's booties, but the baby is still asleep. Will he ever get to meet the baby? Finally, the baby wakes up, much to Biscuit's surprise, so Biscuit and the baby get to meet each other for the very first time.
Through the illustrations by Pat Schories, you can see how anxious Biscuit is to meet the baby. Young children will surely relate to the puppy's feeling of not wanting to wait for something he is so excited about, but having to wait anyway.
I highly recommend Biscuit and the Baby, the lastest addition to the Biscuit series, and look forward to adding the next Biscuit storybook to my child's bookshelf, too.
