Reading the board book "Marty the Martian Learns ABC," written by Valerie Laud and illustrated by Dimitry Chaley, is a great way to introduce your child to the alphabet.
Marty is on a journey to learn to read. Along the way, he visits "new magic places" and meets "many friendly faces" that each introduce him to a new letter of the alphabet. Though a little forced at times, the rhyming text is engaging and fun for children who, by nature, delight in meeting new friends.
The illustrations in "Marty the Martian Learns ABC" are a visual treat for pre-readers. The cartoonish pictures are filled with bright, vivid color. The cute and friendly characters are bursting with kid-appeal.
