little ones with her excellent new cookbook for kids, "Batter Up Kids: Delicious Desserts."
Beery provides 25 recipes that kids (with a little parental supervision) should have no trouble
recreating at home. You and your children will have lots of fun with such dessert recipes as
Candy-Coated Dragonflies, Ladybugs on a Stick and You Are My Sunshine Cupcakes.
Photographer Marty Snortum and the stylists of "Batter Up Kids: Delicious Desserts"
deserve special credit. The pages are bright and colorful. For each recipe there is a tempting
photo of the finished product, as well as photos which accompany every ingredient on the list.
In the cookbook, Beery includes short lessons on kitchen safety, measuring ingredients and
cooking terminology. There's even a real child-size cloth chef's hat!
With its kid-friendly recipes and inspired visual presentation, "Batter Up Kids:
Delicious Desserts" is a must-have for parents wishing to motivate their children to spend
