Review by Sherri Allen:
"These kids can rock!" was my immediate reaction when the first song from Creation's debut CD, World Without Windows started streaming from my audio player. I was surprised by the substance of the CD knowing that Creation is comprised of 6 seventh-graders. The music is solid and the band tackles themes such as tolerance and diversity with unexpected insight. Creation even impressed legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons so much that he joined them to perform on their song "Only for You." (Old fogeys like me will remember Clemons from his days playing with "The Boss," Bruce Springsteen.)
In an really inspiring move, Creation has pledged 100% of the gross proceeds from the sale of World Without Windows to the We Are Family Foundation, which supports projects such as building schools in Third-world countries and empowering American youth through theater arts and global community service opportunities.
My four-year old loves World Without Windows, but I'd say it would be most appreciated by the tweens and teens. Get the CD; you'll enjoy the music, support a good cause and maybe even inspire your own children.
